  • Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) Special Use Permit Reissuance EA

    Renew and combine several special use permits into one master permit for the operation and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure; access; and vegetation management.

    Issue special use permit to Sierra County for the use of Emory Pass site to improve communications.

  • Tucson Electric Power Permit Renewal

    Reissue special use permit to Tucson Electric Power for utility corridor access and maintenance on Gila National Forest. Most helpful to receive comments on this project proposal by September 16, 2022

  • U.S. Geological Survey Gaging Station Installation-San Francisco River; Special Use Permit

    Proposal is to issue USGS a Special Use Permit for installation and maintenance of a proposed gaging station located on the San Francisco River west of Luna, NM

  • Western New Mexico Communication, Fiber Optic Cable (CLEC) SUP; Luna and Grant Counties

    Issue Special Use Permit for segment of fiber optic cable installation on national forest lands

  • Western New Mexico Communication, Fiber Optic Cable (ILEC Project 1) SUP; Grant and Hidalgo Counties

    Issue Special Use Permit for segment of fiber optic cable installation on national forest lands

Black Range Ranger District

  • Aldo Leopold Wilderness Intrusion Barriers and Trailheads Development

    Assess and design four trailheads and barriers to prevent motorized intrusions into the Aldo Leopold Wilderness

  • Black Mountain Privy Replacement

    The privy at Black Mountain lookout tower is at capacity. It is time to replace it with a new privy which will include such things as removing the old structure, blasting and/or digging a new pit and building a new structure.

  • Chloride North Face Placer #1 Project

    Conduce mineral exploration activities via bulk sampling for alluvial gold deposits (placer) over a period of one year

  • Kingston Grazing Allotment Range Improvements

    Develop new wells with solar pumps, install new water storage tanks & drinkers, place plastic pipeline on ground, construct & replace corrals to better disperse cattle on allotment.

  • Socorro Electric Coop., Inc. permit reissuance

    Reissue a special use permit for utility cooridor access and maintenance

Glenwood Ranger District

  • Catron County Commission Glenwood Brushy Communication Site Permit Reissuance

    Reissuance of a special use permit for continued use and maintenance of communication equipment and building at the Glenwood Brushy Communication Site.

  • Catron County Commission Glenwood Transfer Station Permit Reissuance

    Reissue Special Use Permit to Catron County Commission for the use of existing 2 acre transfer station by the community of Glenwood, NM.

  • Road Right Of Way Permit Reissuance for Marks

    ROW permit reissuance for the Marks ROW to access private property along Catwalk Road (.32 miles length, 33 feet in width and approx. 1.3 acres)

  • Thomas-Humpreville Irrigation Pipeline ROW Reissuance

    Reissue a special use permit for maintenance and use of existing buried PVC water transmission pipeline <12" diameter for irrigation use.

Quemado Ranger District

  • Catron County Commission Forest Road 4009W

    Reissue a special use permit for access and maintenance of a public road easement on Forest Service Road 4009W

  • Catron County Commission Forest Road 854

    Reissue a special use permit for an easement for access and maintenance of Forest Road 854.

  • Road Easement for Forest Road 4035C

    Reissue a permit for road easement along FSR4035C to private residence.

  • Sheep Cabin Water System

    Improve existing water sources on El Caso Allotment near Poison Cyn. These water improvement structures will benefit wildlife, including bats, and livestock. Action will install approx. 2.3 miles of pipeline, 4 storage tanks, 3 troughs, and 1 well.

  • Tucson Electric Power Company Fox Mountain Permit Reissuance

    Reissue the special use permit for use of a communications site and radio equipment at the Fox Mountain Communication Site.

Reserve Ranger District

  • Rancho Grande Water Association water permit reissuance

    Reissue existing special use permit to allow for supply of water to home owners.

Silver City Ranger District

  • Ben Lilly Pond Enhancement and Watershed Stabilization Project

    Ben Lilly Pond is a man-made feature with an earthen berm and primitive concrete spillway. There is a need to protect pond features from both ungulate use, public use, and vehicle parking. Propose to implement fencing and parking mngt controls.

  • Bullard Peak Allotment Temporary Water Trough and Pipeline

    Permittee will install a pump and black plastic pipe on the surface from Black Hawk mine area approximately 1/4 mile to an identified trough on Forest Service land. Use would be part year for up to 2 years.

  • Fort Bayard Historic Golf Course - Recreation Special Use Permit

    Special Use permit for operation and renovation of existing 9 hole golf course located at Ft. Bayard. Repair T-boxes to original state, designate greens and clear weeds, clear fairways to the 1964 layout of the course.

  • Fort Bayard Water System Permit Renewal

    Renewal of expired permit for maintenance of existing water system and maintenance of access roads in Fort Bayard to be issued to Fort Bayard Medical. Center/State of NM.

  • Signal Peak Lookout Toilet Installation

    Project proposes the installation of a new single vault CXT toilet at the Signal Peak Lookout facility.

  • Silver City Road Easement Permit Reissuances

    Harris (previously Pierce): Access to residence along Walnut Creek Rd. Grant County Commission: Access along old US Highway 180 to the Ft. Bayard Area and access on Elias Road/FSR 603. Rickman Easement: Access to residence in Little Walnut

  • Silver City West Hazardous Fuels Reduction Project

    Proposal has multiple vegetation treatment types including mechanical thinning, hand thinning, herbicide application, and prescribed fire in order to protect the Wildland Urban Interface from wildfire.

  • Grant County Communication Site Permit Reissuance

    Reissuance of a special use permit to Grant County for use of radio equipment on Copperas Peak Communication Site

  • Natural Resources Conservation Service SNOTEL permit reissuance

    Re-issue existing special use permit for operation and maintenance of a SNOTEL site located at McKnight

  • New Mexico Game and Fish - Prior Pasture Permit Reissuance

    Reissue existing special use permit for use of Prior pasture for maintaining a corral, storage building and 200 acre pasture at Prior Cabin for administrative purposes

  • US Fish and Wildlife Service Gray Wolf Pens Permit Reissuance

    Reissue existing special use permit for construction and use of temporary pens and occupancy of NF land for translocation of the Mexican Gray Wolf.

  • Wilderness Ranger District Trail Reroute Project

    Reroute 2 segments of trail within Gila Wilderness along West Fork of the Gila and Turkey Creek and construct a trail to connect the trailhead to the Military Road trail, which would remove hikers from having to hike on Hwy 15.
