Amendments to Land Management Plans Regarding Sage-grouse Conservation

The Forest Service is considering amending its land management plans to address new and evolving issues arising since implementing sage-grouse plans in 2015. This project is in cooperation with the USDI Bureau of Land Management.

Arc Dome Fish Restoration Project

The Nevada Department of Wildlife has proposed to restore Lahontan cutthroat trout (LCT) in two stream systems within the Arc Dome Wilderness. In order to reintroduce LCT, non-native fish will be removed via chemical treatment.

Barcelona Minerals Exploration Project

Minerals exploration project in the Toquima Range. Seven drill sites on FS administered land

Bodie Hills Habitat Improvement Project

This project will remove conifers from about 4,700 acres of sagebrush ecosystems in the Bodie Hills to improve habitat for the Bi-State sage-grouse.

Bordertown to California 120kV Transmission Line

Construct 120kV transmission line connecting the Bordertown and California substations.

Bridgeport Southwest Rangeland Project

Proposal is to convert 4 sheep allotments into 2 Cattle allotments and authorize cattle grazing in these two allotments.

Bridgeport Warehouse Construction

Construction of a new warehouse adjacent to the existing Forest Service near the intersection of Highway 395 and Buckeye Road, north of Bridgeport, California.

Danbo Exploration Project

Exploration drilling project, 8 proposed drill holes all on existing disturbance, no new road construction, widening or maintenance proposed.

Fort McDermitt Cooperative Domestic Horse Removal Project

The project will remove domestic horses from National Forest System land in cooperation with Fort McDermitt Paiute-Shoshone Tribal government.

Humboldt-Toiyabe Integrated Invasive Plant Treatment Project

The purpose of this analysis is to update current management to provide for integrated and timely management of invasive species, now and in the future, with the goal of promoting healthy and thriving native plant communities across the HTNF.

Indian Valley Greater Sage-grouse Habitat Improvement Project

The Forest Service proposes to remove pinyon pine and juniper on up to 17,000 acres within the Indian Valley project area. Treatment would be done on foot using chainsaws and other hand tools. No vehicles or mechanized equipment would be operated off

Keystone Jumbo

Exploration project near the Keystone and Jumbo Pits adjacent to Manhattan NV. A total of 29 proposed exploration drill holes, up to 3 holes drilled per site. A total of 1.44 acres of proposed disturbance. No new road construction or maintenance

Lee Canyon EIS

Preparation of EIS to analyze the effects of Phase I of a Master Development Plan for the Lee Canyon Ski Resort.

Leviathan-Loope Rangeland Project

Reauthorize grazing on the Leviathan and Campbell-Loope Sheep and Goat allotments and close 3 vacant cattle and horse allotments: Mud Lake, Barber, and Double Springs.

Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe - Atoma Area Project

The Forest Service proposes to amend the Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe special use permit to authorize downhill skiing and associated improvements in the Atoma area and construction of a water tank on the westernmost portion of the permit boundary.

Pine Grove Geotechnical Project

Exploration drilling for locatable minerals in the Wilson Mining District. Activities would include drilling (a)4 groundwater exploration wells(b)9 mineral exploration holes(c)6 geotechnical engineering auger holes(d)11 test pits for soil evaluation.

Pole Creek Pipeline Extension project

Construction of new livestock watering pipeline across National Forest System Land. This pipeline would connect 2 existing pipelines.

Ruby Mountains Oil and Gas Leasing Availability Analysis

Proposal is to make available for oil and gas leasing approximately 54,000 acres of National Forest System land in the Ruby Mountains.

Santa Rosa Fences 2018

Construction of 11 new allotment fences to improve livestock distribution and improve wildlife habitat.

Spring Mountains Wild Horse & Burro Complex Project

Analyze appropriate managment levels and horse gathers on the Spring Mountains NRA and the Southern NV BLM District.

West Carson Habitat Restoration Project

This proposed action consists of two main activities: Aspen stand restoration, and habitat improvement activities for TES species. Aspen stand restoration would consist of reducing conifer encroachment to increasing aspen regeneration and diversity.

California Integrated Weed Management

The proposed action includes the development and implementation of an Integrated Weed Management System (IWMS) to treat noxious and invasive weeds on Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest System Lands in California.

Education Land Grant Act Transfer of National Forest System Land to Washoe County School District

The Forest proposes to convey 60 acres of land in the Thomas Creek area outside of Carson City, Nevada, to the Washoe County School District. The sale would occur under the authority of the Education Land Grant Act (ELGA) of 2000.

Hickison Wild Burro Territory Appropriate Management Levels and Management Actions Project

Project proposes to establish appropriate wild burro herd management levels, authorize population management actions, and approve reconstruction of water developments.

Mountain Warfare Training Center Operations Training Project

Under the Proposed Action a full complement of new vehicles, weapons systems/ordnance, engineer systems, aircraft, and equipment would be employed to augment the current set of training exercises.

South Sugarloaf Fire Rehabilitation Project

Project includes seeding of approx. 10,000 acres; replacement of approx. 160 miles of burned fences; planting of trees on 10 acres; road maintenance of Forest System Roads impacted by the fire, and repair of damaged livestock water developments.

T-Mobile Co-Location

T-Mobile is proposing to co-locate new wireless communication equipment at an existing communication site on the Austin-Tonopah Ranger District, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. T-Mobile would add (6) new panel antennas.

Humboldt - Toiyabe NF Wilderness Plans

Development of Wilderness Management Plans for Santa Rosa - Paradise Peak, Alta Toquima, Arc Dome and Table Mountain Wilderness areas and amendments to Humboldt National Forest LRMP and Toiyabe National Forest LRMP.

Monte Cristo Territory Management Plan pdate

The Forest Service will update the Monte Cristo Wild Horse and Burro Territory Management Plan to include strategies to maintain the herd into the future at AML and to compliment the BLM's management of the Pancake Wild Horse and Burro Complex.

Mt. Charleston Wilderness Management Plan

FS will prepare a Wilderness Management Plan for the Mt. Charleston Wilderness Area in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management.

Pine Grove - Lincoln Gold Project

Project involves drilling of 5 ground water monitoring wells, 9 condemnation drill holes, 6 geotechnical augur holes, and excavation of 9 test pits to determine soil properties.

Reese River Diversion Stabilization Project

This project would replace an existing non-functional diversion structure with a new structure that will function as a diversion for irrigation. The proposal would also close an existing access road that enters the Arc Dome Wilderness.

Sierra Trail Dogs 250 Dual Sport

This is a motorcyle touring type of ride on National Forest System Lands. It will take place on approved motor vehicle routes as identified in the approved Motor Vehicle Use Maps

Swauger Creek Fuels Reduction Project

The purpose for this project is to restore stand health, reduce wildfire severity, promote under story regeneration in sage-steppe, mountain shrub, mixed conifer, and aspen communities and imrpove wildlife habitat and help create defensiable space.

Antelope Restoration Project

USFS proposal to restore stand health, reduce wildfire severity, and promote understory regeneration in sage-steppe, mtn shrub communities . Prescribed fire and mechanical treatments would be applied within approximately 65,000 acre project boundary

Figueroa Landscape Rock Acquisition

The proposal is to allow Figueroa Masonry to extract up to 500 tons of rock annually over a three-year period.

Manzanita Fuels Reduction and Ecosystem Management Project

Reduce Fuels and enhance wildlife habitat on approximately 700 acres within the wildland urban interface in Alpine County Clifornia near the town of Woodfords. The project area is within the old Acron Fire of 1987.

PMMR Clay Mine Expansion

Proponent proposes to expand the existing clay mine. One pit would be expanded and one new pit developed. clay would be trucked off forest to a rail siding in Wabuska.

Virginia Lake Pack Outfit and Leavitt Meadows Pack Station Permit Renewals

USFS proposal to issue new term permit to replace expired permits for both Virginia Lake Pack Outfit and Leavitt Meadows Pack Station Permits. Project on hold while Forest Service conducts a needs assessment.
