SOPA Reports
The Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPA) contains a list of proposed
actions for Mark Twain National Forest that will soon begin or are currently undergoing environmental
analysis and documentation. It provides information so that you can become
aware of and indicate your interest in specific proposals. We encourage your
early and ongoing involvement in any proposals of interest to you.
Various management activities that will move national forest resource conditions closer to the long-term goals published in the Land and Resource Management Plan.
Vegetation restoration to create ecosystems that are healthy, resilient, and resistant to diseases, insect infestations, and non-native species invasion.
The Blooming Rose project is intended to respond to the goals, objectives and standards outlined in the 2005 Forest Plan and to move the project area towards the desired future conditions for 2.1 and 6.3.
This project addresses concerns over public health and safety on the existing trail system as well as issues caused by user-created trails within the Chadwick recreation area.
Objectives for the Corn Creek project are to improve forest health, provide a wide variety of goods, uses and services including wood products to the local community, improve recreation opportunities, and improve habitat for many species.
The Eleven Point Ranger District of the Mark Twain National Forest is proposing to conduct multiple-use forest management activities on approximately 16,134 acres within a total project area of 50,923 acres of federal land.
The project will connect a new trailhead to the Ozark Trail, decommission the old connector trail, and decommission a segment of FR2901 that lead to the old trailhead.
This project seeks to improve forest health within the Jones Ranch project area by encouraging species diversity, optimizing stocking, removing trees with declining health, and moving conditions toward those in Appendix A-3 of the Forest Plan
This project realigns a short segment of the Ozark Trail at the Lost Creek crossing in order to mitigate the hazardous condition of the current trail corridor which was created by the development of a cut-bank.
Archaeological surveys and limited testing for Section 106 compliance with the State Historic Preservation Office for: The Carroll Electric Cooperative Corporation aerial powerline right-of-way expansion.
This project covers roughly 210 linear miles (approximately 985 acres) of ROW throughout the Mark Twain National Forest and supports the permittee%u2019s interest to use herbicides as part of their routine maintenance.
Landowner requires permit to access property across National Forest System lands. This project is being cancelled because this permit is no longer being pursued.
Adaptive management of 1.1 and 1.2 MPs on the Ava Unit of the ACW RD. Project may include but is not limited to: restoration of glade and other natural communities as defined by the Forest Plan (2005).
CANCELLED DUPLICATE ENTRY. DO NOT USE THIS ONE. Remove high-risk infrastructure, provide day-use opportunities, restore floodplain to a functioning state at the Red Bluff Recreation Area.
Landowner requires a permit for the use of National Forest system lands. A letter will be issued to accomplish this; therefore, this project is being cancelled from the SOPA.
This project seeks to implement a Zone-wide framework for the Ava/Cassville/Willow Springs and Houston/Rolla/Cedar Creek Ranger Districts to address the need to move existing fire regimes toward an ideal Fire Regime Condition Class.
