Provide a area where several forests products can be removed under a 2400-1 Personal Use Permit on the Challis-Yankee Fork Ranger District. Products include: Commerical Fuelwood, Post and Poles, House-logs, Gate-logs, and incidental Saw-logs.

Design small commercial sales for the removal of live saw timber and fuelwood on up to 70 designated acres.

This project includes repair of about 1400 feet of Challis Creek Road (Forest Service Road #080) at five impacted sites in order to reopen the road to the public, and also includes use of two nearby borrow pits for rock material.

Thin 383 acres of mistle-toe infected Douglas-fir in the Garden Creek drainage, pile the slash for later burning and leave boles created for fuelwood gatherers. Location of project is the municipal watershed for Challis, Idaho.

Relocation of 1.8 miles of Trail #4347 out of the riparian zone of Cherry Creek for resource protection and improved user safety. Trail is open to wheeled vehicles 50 inches or less in width during a designated season of 05/22 to 09/07.

The project will involve removing trees within 50 feet of the established parking lot, then leveling and filling these areas with washed/weed free gravel and fill.

The proposed action is to re-authorize an expired special use permit for continued operation and maintenance of an existing water transmission system to the City of Salmon for a term of 30 years.

The operators have proposed six test pits approximately 20 ft. by 20 ft. in size and one to four feet deep. The pits are designed to be excavated down to bedrock which varies somewhat.

The proposed action is to reissue an expired special use permit for an existing road for a term of 20 years. The right of way is approximately 0.96 miles long and 12 feet wide. The project area is located off of the Phelan Creek Road (FS Road 60098).

Issue SUP permit and/or easements on approximately 20 existing non-wilderness water diversions across the Salmon-Challis National Forest.

Reopening of 2400 feet of previously reclaimed road, construction of four drill pads, and core drilling of up to 6 holes at each pad to delineate anticipated mineralization.

Restore access to the Colson Creek Road by constructing a new segment of Forest System Road that would accommodate full-sized vehicles. New segment would replace temporary ATV trail currently in place.

Construction of new trail and reconstruction of existing trail, about 18 miles total.

Reroute and construct approximately 4 miles of new trail designed primarily for hiking and horseback riding in the Anderson Mountain area, North Fork Ranger District, Salmon-Challis NF and Wisdom Ranger District, Beaverhead-Deerlodge NF

This project will look to relocate a portion of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (CDNST) off of a currently existing road. The new contructed section will be approximately 1.8 miles long.

Construct 2/3 mile of hiking/horseback riding trail to replace older segment of trail and maintain continuity with the recently rerouted trail on BLM land.

Exploration drilling that proposes removal of dirt and boulders from the original 1200 ft unimproved access road and conducting subsurface drilling using an underground, rail mounted diamond core drill rig. No new surface disturbance.

The Salmon-Challis NF proposes to reroute 0.25 miles of NFS Road #40656 to eliminate 2 ford crossings in ESA-listed fish habitat. A new route will be constructed and bridge installed across Banner Creek.

Approve a plan to drill up to two holes per pad on four drill pads, use less than 1 mile of temporary closed user-created routes and less than 0.5 miles of overland travel for drill pad access, and draft water from Agency Creek.

The Forest Proposes to remove live and dead tress on up to 70 acres on the Salmon-Cobalt RD to provide post and pole products while reducing stocking levels in lodgepole pine stand.

Improvement of existing areas in the Corn Creek Boat Launch site on the main Salmon River for improved safety and accessibility of users

Proposed permanent facilities include chinook salmon trapping, holding and acclimation facilities including weirs at Pole Flat Campground site on the Yankee Fork River and at the Cobalt Ranger Station on Panther Creek. In cooperation with BPA.

Pete McFarland (the Operator) of Salmon, Idaho has submitted a plan of operations to excavate 10 test pits and test them with a self contained sluice box.

The Salmon Cobalt Ranger District (SCRD) is proposing to withdraw approximately 107.02 acres of National Forest Lands from mineral entry under the 1872 Mining Law.

Exploration drilling from 4 drill pad locations in the Dutchler Basin, Squaw Creek, and Papoose Creek areas of the North Fork Ranger District.

The operator proposes to drill auger holes and dig trenches in order to test for placer gold in the upper reaches of East Boulder Creek.

Proposal to drill 30 exploration auger holes in jurisdictional wetland with less than 1 acre of surface disturbance near the confluence of East Boulder Creek and West Fork of East Boulder Creek.

The proposed action would restore Eightmile Creek to a more natural condition by placing large wood in the stream channel and eliminating impacts to the stream associated with an adjacent road.

The Forest Service was a cooperating agency, assisting the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in that Agency's geothermal leasing analysis and decision. The BLM issued a record of decision on 12/17/2008.

Upon approval of proposed operating plan, authorize Kennecott Exploration Drilling Company (the Operator) to conduct mineral exploration for locatable minerals on the Operator's claims in the project area.

Install a 10,000 gallon water holding tank along the Gilmore pipeline near the water trough. Tank would be buried adjacent to the road above the trough.

Multiple entry treatments to help promote development and growth of whitebark pine, especially cone-producing whitebark pines, in order to improve whitebark pine habitat to improve habitat for wildlife species dependent on whitebark pine.

Manual and mechanical treatments to improve stand health and increase resiliency to insects and disease.

The intent of the project is to improve timber stands, wildlife forage and habitat by utilizing hand thinning, hand piling and prescribed burning to restore stands closer to reference conditions

Salvage marketable forest products from trees killed over 1,452 acres as a result of the Halstead Fire and those trees that may succumb to expansion of Douglas-fir beetle triggered by the fire. Areas include Challis-Yankee and Middle Fork Districts.

Derrold Slavin of Salmon, Idaho proposed up to four test trenches to explore for minerals near Hawkeye Gulch and Moose Creek on National Forest lands administered by the Salmon-Cobalt Ranger District, Salmon-Challis National Forest.

Construction of a primarily buck-and-pole exclosure to protect ESA-listed fish species in Hayden Creek.

Remove encroaching vegetation from an existing airstrip, restore the airstrip's runway surface and install other items needed to return the airstrip to a usable state. Other items include windsocks, and tie-down blocks.

Wetland and meadow retention, habitat improvement, and channel stabilization.

Proposal to excavate two test pits, 30' wide x 50' long x 15' deep, to explore lower 5 feet of pits for gold.

Excavation of up to three trenches is proposed at one site location using an excavator. A total estimate of ~1,729 linear feet would be excavated and would be 5-15 feet deep by ~20 feet wide. Trenches will be reclaimed post operations.

The Challis-Yankee Fork Ranger District is proposing to construct an exclosure fence approximately 4.5 acres in size around Fourth Spring within Unit 1 of the Morgan Creek-Prairie Basin Allotment

Withdrawn - The Challis-Yankee Fork Ranger District is proposing to conduct fuels reduction treatments on 4035 acres by thinning near private land and prescribed burning and thinning conifers that are encroaching into aspen stands.

Develop Interagency (FS & BLM) Wilderness Management Plan for new wilderness area.

The project will replace a 500 foot section of the Kane Creek Road #134 that has washed out. The project will eliminate resource damage associated with vehicle use at the washed out section of road while still maintaining access to the trailhead.

Construct 0.25 miles of fence on the Wildhorse C&H grazing allotment, at the Kane Lake Trailhead in Kane Canyon, to protect fish and wildlife habitat.

The purpose of this project is to effectively control livestock to protect and improve riparian conditions and fish habitat by constructing .11 mile of fence.

Construct the Keystone Fence to provide a boundary between the FS and BLM allotments to prevent unauthorized livestock drift between permitted areas

Remove a diversion structure in the Knapp Creek watershed. This diversion is no longer in use, and the diversion instream structure, diversion headgate, diversion ditch within the floodplain, and diversion fish screen will be removed.

Authorize permittees to build 0.1-acre corral at permitted camp site.

Conifer removal would entail the felling of trees that are on the leading edges of conifer stands that are invading into sage-grouse habitat within sagebrush habitat, and the removal of trees that are out by themselves in sage-grouse habitat..

Fourteen proposed exploration drill sites on NFS lands in the Ditch Creek drainage. Approx. 1400 feet of new temporary exploration road will be constructed.

The proposed action would permit Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) to conduct helicopter landings in the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness through a special use permit.

Construction of approximately 0.84 miles of barbed wire fence along Mill Creek. The fence will run alongside the 250 road for approximately one-half mile then contour to the nearest steep point to tie the fence off.

A wildlife habitat restoration and timber stand improvement project in the upper reaches of Muley Creek. Primarily a prescribed burn project with some hand cutting of conifers along the road (within 300 feet) in the upper half of Muley Creek.

Reopening of previously reclaimed exploration roads, construction of new temporary roads to facilitate development of 14 drill pads along the road prisms. Up to 42 core or reverse circulation holes would be drilled to assess mineral potential.

Burial of passive seismic instrument with an above ground solar panel and data station box at several locations on the Salmon-Challis, Sawtooth and Boise NF's to collect data for NSF funded Earthscope project.

The purpose of this project is to improve livestock distribution within the Slab Barn Pasture on the Challis Creek Allotment by constructing approximately .26 miles of drift fence to separate the west portion of the pasture from the eastern pasture.

The plan proposes to drill between 20 and 22 800-1200%u2019 holes at up to 11 out of 23 proposed drilling locations using a diamond core helicopter portable drilling rig

The project will expand the exclosure around a developed headbox at Soapstone Springs on the Grizzly Hill C&H Allotment, protecting the spring source.

The project will increase forest stand resilience to insect, disease, and wildfire utilizing silvicultural practices such as mechanical thinning and prescribed fire.

The Lost River Ranger District is proposing to convert two stock ponds to troughs in the Willow Creek pasture of the Alder Creek Allotment.

The purpose of the project is to install a bridge across Winnemucca Creek along FS Trail #4034. The bridge would reduce sediment delivery into the creek, which is critical habitat for ESA-threatened fish species.

Proposed Actions include implementing prescribed fire by both hand and aerial over some of the 17,000 acre project area. Desired fire effects will be a patchy mosaic of burned vegetation including trees, shrubs and grasses across the landscape.

The project proposes to remove small diameter (<4 inch) conifers out of and within 100 feet of 210 acres of aspen clones in the project area. Conifers would be cut, lopped, and scattered on site. No ground disturbing equipment would be used.

Twenty-two routes on the Leadore Ranger District are proposed for decommissioning. The location of all routes are within the Baker Creek-Lemhi River and Withington Creek watersheds.
