The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests are well-known for winter recreation activities such as skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling, but don't take our word for it...come experience it for yourself!
An Idaho State Park N’ Ski sticker is required to park in most of our groomed skiing and snowboarding areas. Visit the Idaho Parks and Recreation website for more information.

Skiing/Snowboarding
Some skiing/snowboarding areas on the Forests include Trapper Creek Camp Area, Colt Creek Trailhead, and Palouse Divide Nordic Ski Area.
Sledding/Tubing
Sledding/Tubing areas include Palouse Corridor.
Snowmobiling
We have many amazing places to adventure with your snowmobile on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Visit the Fish Creek Recreation Area, just 7 miles south of Grangeville, Idaho, or take a trip along the All American Road Highway 12 and visit the Lolo Pass Visitor Center's snowmobiling trails, or try one of our others within the North Fork Corridor and Palouse Corridor. Over 100 miles of trail are groomed by the Sno-Drifters Snowmobile club for snowmobiling each winter.
XC Skiing/Snowshoeing
Fish Creek Recreation Area is located just 7 miles south of Grangeville, Idaho. The area boasts very popular Cross-Country skiing and snowshoeing trails. Recreationists can enjoy 1 to 7 miles of groomed trails. The trails are packed, groomed, and tracked as weather and snow conditions permit.
