Where did our campground names come from?
Turquoise Lake Nature Trail parking area, Turquoise Lake Loop Road/Colorado Road 9
Leadville, CO
A preacher who delivered the mail on snowshoes; the famous lady who survived the Titanic; gold, silver and copper mines; the Silver King and Queen and others... Come hear Forest Service employee Joan Veilleux share the colorful history of these amazing people for whom our campgrounds are named.
This event is located at the new Turquoise Lake Amphitheater location. We are in the process of planning and building seating at Turquoise Lake, so we ask that people bring camp chairs.
The site is located along a path by the existing Turquoise Lake Nature Trail parking area. For these programs, meet at the Turquoise Lake Nature Trail parking area on the left side of the road along the entrance to Molly Brown Campground, off the Turquoise Lake Loop Road/Colorado Road 9. Our Forest Service staff will escort you to the site.
