PUEBLO, Colo., Sept. 24, 2025 — Firewood permits for the San Isabel National Forest are now available for purchase through a new online E-Permit system. Permits may be purchased by computer or mobile device any time, eliminating travel to your local Forest Service office. Digital permits for Pike National Forest are coming soon.

This new service provides flexibility and convenience to our forest users. To purchase a firewood permit or to learn more about permits and gathering firewood online, visit USDA Forest Service E-Permits. Traditional firewood permits will still be available to purchase at local Forest Service offices or participating vendors.

The Forest Service will continue to refine and improve the quality of the online permit system and add additional special forest product permits in the future. For more information about the firewood program on the Pike-San Isabel National Forests & Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands, please contact a district office or visit the Firewood Permits webpage.
