Forest & Grassland Memorial Day Safety Reminders

PUEBLO, Colo., May 22, 2025 — With Memorial Day approaching next Monday and the unofficial start of summer this weekend, visitors to the Pike-San Isabel National Forests & Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands (PSICC) are encouraged to prioritize safety while enjoying the outdoors.

Whether you are hiking, fishing, riding or camping, make sure your experience is positive by staying safe. Before visiting the forests and grasslands, review these important safety tips.

Currently, the PSICC is not in fire restrictions; however, as temperatures rise and weather changes, this can change. Keep informed and comply with all current fire restrictions and alerts by visiting our alerts webpage.

District offices and the Supervisor’s Office in Pueblo will be closed Monday, May 26, 2025, in observance of Memorial Day. All offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
