Forest Order
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50(a), the following acts are prohibited on National Forest System (NFS) lands in the White River National Forest described below and shown on the attached map incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A (the “Restricted Areas”). The purpose of this Order is to protect natural resources and public safety.
RESTRICTED AREAS
The Restricted Areas are the NFS lands within 300 feet from the National Forest System Roads (NFSRs) listed below, which are located in the Eagle-Holy Cross and Dillon Ranger Districts and Eagle and Summit Counties and shown on Exhibit A.
The NFSRs listed below are designated as Zone 1 or Zone 2 to reflect the dates on which restrictions begin along that NFSR, which correspond with the dates the NFSRs are opened for motorized use per Motor Vehicle Use Map. Zone 1 is depicted in yellow, and Zone 2 is depicted in green on Exhibit A.

PROHIBITIONS
1. Camping at any location within the same 20-mile radius for more than 7 days within any continuous 30-day period from May 21 (Zone 1) or June 21 (Zone 2) to September 1. 36 CFR § 261.58(a)
EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1. Persons with a special use authorization or other Forest Service authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
2. Any Federal, State, or Local officer or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
This Order becomes effective at 12:01am on April 7, 2022, and remains in effect until December 31, 2028, or until rescinded, which ever event occurs first.
