El Jebel Administrative Site
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. 261.50(a), the following acts are prohibited on the National Forest System (NFS) lands known as the El Jebel Administrative Parcel in the Aspen-Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest, described below and shown on the attached map incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A (the “Described Area”).
The Described Area is located in Section 33, Township 7 South, Range 87 West, 6th P.M. and in Eagle County, Colorado. The Described Area is the NFS lands within the following boundaries: beginning at the junction of Valley Road and the Crown Mountain Park access road; continuing south along the boundary of Crown Mountain Park until its junction with private land; continuing along that boundary west until the junction with the Roaring Fork River; following the Roaring Fork River north until the point where Valley Road would intersect with the Roaring Fork if it continued straight; continuing east along Valley Road; and ending at the junction of Valley Road and the Crown Mountain Park Road.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this Order is to protect public safety and natural resources.
PROHIBITIONS:
1. Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire or stove fire. 36 C.F.R. 261.52(a)
2. Camping. 36 C.F.R. 261.58(e)
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1. Persons with a special use authorization or other Forest Service authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
This Order will be in effect on August 19, 2022 and shall remain in effect December 31, 2027 or until rescinded, whichever event occurs first.
