Meadow Creek Trail to be closed for repairs
SILVERTHORNE, Colo. (May 12, 2025)– The first 0.5 miles of the popular Meadow Creek Trail west of Frisco will be closed for public safety during much of the summer while crews complete important repairs and maintenance.
The trail and trailhead will be closed every day from May 19 to June 14 while crews use machinery to build trail foundation and erosion control features. Construction will continue from June 15 to Aug. 2, but the trail and trailhead will be closed on weekdays only.
The trail receives more than 100,000 visitors per year, resulting in erosion, trail braiding and other impacts. Some sections have become difficult for many visitors to hike.
“We appreciate the public’s patience as we conduct this critical maintenance,” said Dillon District Ranger Adam Bianchi. “I am pleased that we will be able to complete this work while also allowing the public to hike it on many weekends this summer.”
The project is a cooperative effort among the White River National Forest, Eagle Summit Wilderness Alliance, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and Rocky Mountain Youth Corps.
