Valle Vidal Camping Restrictions

Map of roadway camping restrictions (does not show water source restrictions). View the PDF version for the map legend.(Forest Service map)The following prohibitions are in effect within the Valle Vidal Unit:
- Camping on or within a half-mile of Forest Service roads (camping is allowed in Cimarron and McCrystal campgrounds when open).
- Camping within 100 yards of natural waters or within 300 yards of constructed waters.
The purpose of these restrictions are to protect wildlife habitat and comply with the intent of the New Mexico Habitat Protection Act.
