Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Drive

The Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Drive is a 15-mile stretch of state Route 89A between Sedona and Flagstaff, known for its National Scenic Byway designation, dramatic hairpin turns, dense canopies, and views of towering red rock formations. If you get carsick easily, the switchbacks at the northern end probably aren't for you, but the canyon drive itself is always beautiful.

From Sedona, this drive climbs approximately 2,200 feet, offering a view of Arizona that would make you think you're actually in California with lush canopies and awesome fall colors each October. Along the way, visitors can enjoy overlooks like Oak Creek Vista, Midgley Bridge, and attractions such as Slide Rock State Park, as well as numerous hiking trails and picnic spots.
