Brown Canyon Ranch

Brown Canyon Ranch offers a glimpse back in time and ample opportunities for an enjoyable day with the family.  Located on the northeastern flanks of the Huachuca Mountains just outside Sierra Vista, this historic site is set in a scenic grassland with oak and juniper trees and panoramic mountain views.  Visitors can tour the historic ranch house, have a picnic under shady cottonwood trees, stroll along the pathway around the pond, and hike nearby trails into Miller Peak Wilderness.

General Information

The Brown Canyon Ranch House is open from dawn to dusk.

No camping at the parking lot, ranch, or trailhead.

Day Use:
$8 per vehicle per day
$10 per vehicle per week

Day-use: $8 per vehicle 
Weekly: $10 per vehicle 

Buy a pass online, or purchase a pass on site with cash or check. Proof of payment, or a valid Coronado National Forest Annual Pass or Interagency (America the Beautiful) Pass, including the Annual, Senior, Access, or Military Pass, must be displayed on the driver's side of vehicle dashboard. Learn more about accepted passes.

Pets are permitted, but must be leashed at Brown Canyon Ranch. Please pick up pet waste.

Directions

Drive 6 miles south of Sierra Vista on AZ Highway 92 to Ramsey Canyon Road. Turn right (west) on Ramsey Canyon Road and continue for 2.1 miles to Forest Service Road 5736 on the right (north) side of the road. Parking here is free, but requires a 0.8-mile walk to reach the ranch and trailhead, or you can park at the Brown Canyon Ranch day-use fee parking area and the official trailhead for Brown Canyon #115.

Travel Considerations

A dirt road leads to Brown Canyon Ranch. Passable with a standard clearance vehicle.

Parking

A day-use fee or accepted pass is required to park at Brown Canyon Ranch. There is a free parking area off Ramsey Canyon Road at the turnoff to Brown Canyon Ranch, approximately 1 mile from the Ranch.
