Winter Sports

Few people think of snow and skiing when they think of Southern Arizona. The Santa Catalina Ranger District, however, is home to the southernmost ski area in the continental United States, perched near the 9,157-foot summit of Mt. Lemmon.

Throughout the winter, the tops of the sky islands are dressed in white and afford visitors the opportunity to enjoy the snow even in southern Arizona.
