Motorized Trail #977
The 0.25-mile Motorized Trail #977 turns north off Forest Road 4204A on the north side of the North Fork Mimbres River Canyon. The short spur trail climbs to the base of a rocky cliff with a loop turnaround at the end.

From Mimbres, follow New Mexico Highway 35 north for about 11 miles to Forest Road 150 (North Star Road) and turn right. Continue straight for 5 miles to Trail #968 on the right, across from Forest Road 4079W.
