2025 Firewood Permits
The Santa Fe National Forest will begin selling permits at the Supervisor's Office and all Ranger District Offices on March 31.
The Santa Fe National Forest provides firewood for personal use on a permit basis. For information about firewood tags, important do's and don't, what not to cut, snag trees, and permits, download the Firewood guide.
Personal use firewood permits are available at 8 a.m. Monday, March 31 at the Santa Fe National Forest Supervisor's Office and all Ranger District Offices. Permits are $20 for ten (10) cords of wood and can be purchased with cash, check, or credit card at the District Offices.
Christmas Tree Permits

The Santa Fe National Forest sells Christmas Tree permits starting in the fall and continuing through December. This permit allows you to cut a Christmas Tree within designated areas of the Santa Fe National Forest!
Wildings Permits

Wilding permits, which authorize collecting live plants and trees from National Forest lands for personal use, are available by contacting the Santa Fe National Forest.
