Roosevelt Lake Visitors Center
Looking to discover the wonders of camping, hiking, boating, and more in an aquatic oasis amidst the Sonoran Desert? Stop by the Roosevelt Lake Visitor Center for area information, maps, passes, permits, and intriguing exhibits. Both Roosevelt and Apache Lakes, as well as the surrounding desert and montane ecosystems, present a variety of wildlife and bird-watching opportunities. A selection of several hundred developed campsites, multiple shoreline areas, and small, isolated, islands and coves offer outstanding opportunities for camping and relaxing.

Daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Closed all Federal Holidays)
Restrictions
- Most coves and all recreation sites are “No Wake” areas.
- Please use a portable potty or boat head and properly dispose of waste
- Pack it in pack it out!
- Lake levels fluctuate seasonally according to precipitation and irrigation demands.
- Gila County Sheriff’s Office, Arizona Game and Fish Department, and USDA Forest Service enforce lake regulations.
- Rules and regulations are posted on bulletin boards. Please read and observe.

Directions
From Mesa: Take State Hwy. 87 (Beeline Highway) north for about 60 miles to the junction of State Hwy 188. Turn right and follow State Hwy. 188 for 26 miles to the lake. (at mile-marker 242.8)
From Globe area: Take State Hwy. 188 northwest 27 miles to the lake. (at mile-marker 242.8)
