Anvil Draw Boat Ramp Temporary Closure

PROHIBITIONS

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on the National Forest System (NFS) Lands and water known as Flaming Gorge Reservoir in the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Ashley National Forest as described below and shown on attached map.

1. Launching a boat, watercraft, or vessel [36 CFR 261.58(k)]

EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:

1. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of their duty.
2. Federal or State administrative personnel in the performance of their official duty.

AREA DESCRIBED

Anvil Draw boat ramp, including beaches within ¼ mile of the Anvil Draw ramp.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Order is to restrict the launching of personally owned boats, vessels, and watercraft from the Anvil Draw Boat Ramp for safety, and protection of infrastructure due to low water level and ramp design.

IMPLEMENTATION

1. This Order shall be in effect from July 7, 2026 through December 31, 2026.
2. A map identifying the described closure area is attached and made part of this Order.
3. A violation of the above prohibitions is punishable as a Class B misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, and/or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. [16 U.S.C. § 551; 18 U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581].

   5. This Order supersedes any previous Orders prohibiting the same or similar acts in the areas (and/or roads or trails) covered by this order and descripted above.
