Road Washout at Snyder Basin
Please report road conditions
Big Piney, Wyo., May 31, 2025—- A culvert has failed by Snyder Basin and Forest Road 10128 at Darby Creek. The volume of water and snowmelt has washed away the road and left a significant drop-off into the eroding surface. Forest Road Crews are mobilizing to repair the road. In it’s current condition the road is impassable.
Remember spring brings changing road conditions with melting snow and spring runoff. Please contact your local Ranger Station at https://www.fs.usda.gov/r04/bridger-teton/offices if you find any mudslides or washed out roads or trails so we can address them.
Spring is also a good time to remember that visitors can download free Forest maps and the free motor vehicle use maps at our Forest website. Remember to Play, Clean Go, and wash your vehicles, all terrain vehicles (ATVs), boots and gear before using them on your public lands to avoid spreading noxious weeds to new areas.
