CAMPING AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS NEAR LIVESTOCK CORRALS
PROHIBITIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(a), the following acts are prohibited at the livestock corrals on the Cedar City, Escalante, Pine Valley, Cedar City, and Powell Ranger Districts of the Dixie National Forest described in Attachment 1, shown on maps in Attachments 2-5, and posted with signs (the “Restricted Areas”).
1.Camping within 300 ft (100 yds) of the Restricted Areas from May 1 to November 15 [36 CFR261.58(e)].
2.Parking or leaving a vehicle within 300 ft (100 yds) of the Restricted Areas from May 1 to November 15in violation of posted instructions [36 CFR 261.58(g)].
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1.Persons with a special use authorization or other Forest Service authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
2.Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
3.Federal or State administrative personnel in the performance of an official duty.
RESTRICTED AREAS
Corrals on the Cedar City, Escalante, Pine Valley, and Powell Ranger Districts, Dixie National Forest that are listed and described in Attachment 1, depicted in Attachments 2-5 (maps), and posted with signs prohibiting camping or parking within 300 ft (100 yds).
PURPOSE:
This Order is intended to protect public safety during gathering, loading, or unloading activities associated with permitted livestock grazing, as well as prevent interference with those activities.
IMPLEMENTATION:
1.This Order will be in effect on May 1, 2021 and shall remain in effect until May 1, 2026 or until rescinded, whichever occurs first.
2.A violation of the prohibitions in this Order is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, and/or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months. [16 USC§551, 18 USC §§ 3559, 3571, 3581].
3.The Attachments are incorporated into this Order.
