The beginning of this trail is on private land so be sure to stay on trail and be respectful of the landowners. The first mile is flat and easy but do not be fooled, the trail soon turns upward to climb into the mountain wilderness. The trail is extremely exposed as you wind up the ridge towards Mt. Baldy so bring plenty of water. This extreme exposure allows for some breath-taking vistas of the Kolob Canyon area. As you round Mt. Baldy the climb softens into Anderson Valley. Enjoy the solitude of the Pine Valley Wilderness and be sure to preserve it for other visitors. The trail continues into Mill Flat where it meets up with the summit trail. You could link other trails from here or turn around and descend the same way you climbed.
