Big Hollow Trail

The Pine Valley Recreation Area and campground is closed indefinitely for public safety due to the Forsyth fire. All reservations are refundable through 12/31/2025.

Start at the Duncan Springs Trailhead, head East towards Stoddard Mountain. This trail slowly climbs to the junction with Big Hollow Trail at the base of Stoddard Mountain. Head west into the canyon. The Trailheads down the canyon through the Pinyon-Juniper forest. Enjoy the shade of the canyon and the large rock formations on either side as you descend. The trail ends and turns into a road that intersects with West Pinto Road. You can turn around to go back to the trailhead or continue on the road to West Pinto Road. There is a section of this trail on private land so be sure to stick to the trail and be respectful of the property owners.
