Visitor Maps and Guides
Visitor maps for each national forest and grassland provide forest-wide information on attractions, facilities, services, and opportunities. These maps are available to purchase from individual forests and retail outlets.
Forest Visitor Maps are also available on mobile technology through the Avenza Map Store. These maps DO NOT show all existing Forest Service roads. For a map that shows the most up to date road and motorized trail information see the information on obtaining Motor Vehicle Use Maps.
The Avenza PDF Maps Application is free of charge and available for most Apple, Android and Windows Phone Operating System products. The application can be downloaded directly to mobile devices through iTunes or Play Store. Maps are geo-referenced.

Manti-La Sal National Forest Maps
2023 Travel Maps
The Manti-La Sal National Forest has created Travel Maps for the Ferron-Price, Sanpete, and Moab-Monticello districts showing ownership, campgrounds, waterways and contours. The maps are available online and are updated annually. These maps display officially designated motorized roads and trails, as found on the annual Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM).
Motorized Vehicle Use Maps (MVUM)
A Motorized Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) is a legal document that shows which roads and trails are open to public motor vehicle use. If a road or trail does not appear on the map, it means that it is not open to public motor vehicular use.
The MVUM is a black and white map with no topographic features. It is best used with a Forest Visitor Map or other detailed map. The MVUM will be updated as needed to correct mapping errors or d screpancies and update travel decisions.
If you plan on camping, driving off-highway vehicles, hunting, or exploring the backcountry; please make sure you review the appropriate MVUM to know which routes are open to motor vehicle use. For more information, please visit MVUM Frequently Asked Questions and KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!
