Bear Basin Area, McCall Ranger District

The Bear Basin area, on the McCall Ranger District, is just a few short miles from downtown McCall. Two trailheads provide access into this area: the main trailhead off North Club Road, and the West Face trailhead.

The Bear Basin area includes a network of multi-use trails. In the summer, head to Bear Basin for mountain biking, family hiking, or a trail run. For mountain biking enthusiasts, you can enjoy the pump track at the main trailhead, or beginner, intermediate and advanced mountain biking trails. While all trails are multi-use, some trails were designed with mountain bikers in mind. In the winter, enjoy one of the groomed snowshoe or cross-country ski trails. The Payette Lakes Ski Club has a special use permit to groom 30km of cross-country ski trails in the area. Fees apply for use of this area in the winter.

Before you head out download the winter or summer Bear Basin trail map onto your phone through the Avenza app.
