Biking
The Sawtooth National Forest offers exceptional opportunities for mountain bikers, road cyclist and e-bike users.
E-Biking
Electric bicycles, or e-bikes, are considered motor vehicles, so their use on National Forest System lands falls under the same restrictions as other motor vehicles. Generally, if a road is open to a motor vehicle, then it is also open to an e-bike. For more information about where e-bikes are allowed, check out our our Motor Vehicle Use Maps.
Mountain Biking
Fat tire enthusiasts will find exceptional opportunities for mountain biking on the Sawtooth National Forest, especially in the Wood River and Sawtooth Valleys.
Road Cycling
While mountain biking opportunities are more plentiful on the Sawtooth National Forest, the highways and scenic byways that cross National Forest System lands offer road cyclists routes with varying degrees of difficulty and spectacular views.
