Rincon-Redbox Road (2N24) Closure
A segment of Rincon-Redbox Road (2N24.3) is closed beginning from State Route 39 on the east to Pine Mountain on the west due to an impassible rock slide, an uneven road surface, and limited opportunities to safely turn around. The purpose of this closure is to provide for public safety.
The affected road segment encompasses the following:
- Rincon-Redbox Road (2N24.3), between the intersection of Pine Mountain Road (2N24A), and the intersection with San Gabriel Canyon Road (CA-39)
What segment is open?
Rincon-Redbox Road is accessible from Angeles Crest Highway on the west to Pine Mountain. Users should contact the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument District Office where they can obtain a permit at no-charge.

Forest Order
Pursuant to 16 USC 551 and 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), and to provide for public safety, the following act is prohibited within the San Gabriel National. This Order is effective from July 31, 2026 until December 31, 2026.
1. Being on any National Forest System road listed below, as shown on the attached map (Exhibit A). 36 CFR 261.54(e):
a. Rincon-Redbox Road (2N24.3), between the intersection of Pine Mountain Road (2N24A), and the intersection with San Gabriel Canyon Road (CA-39);
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.
A violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both 16 USC 551 and 18 USC 3559, 3571, and 3581.
