Celebrate National Public Lands Day 2026 at Crystal Lake Campground

Celebrate National Public Lands Day in the Angeles National Forest! Join your community for a volunteer day in the San Gabriel Mountains.

The Angeles National Forest, National Forest Foundation, Angeles Volunteer Association, and San Gabriel Mountains Trailbuilders invite you to volunteer to beautify the Crystal Lake Recreation Area and Campground on National Public Lands Day. The event will take place on Saturday, September 26, from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. On-site registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. and we will kick-off the event around 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided at 12 pm.

Volunteer tasks include picking up litter, cleaning fire rings, and clearing brush. Reservations are required, as space is limited!

Important event information:

• Volunteers will meet in the Crystal Lake Visitors Center. All participants are encouraged to carpool as parking is limited.
• Coffee and snacks will be provided during registration at 8 am.
• Lunch will be provided for volunteers at 12 pm. Please note any dietary restrictions when you register.
• Be prepared to work outside and get dirty. Bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, clothes for varying weather conditions, close-toed shoes, and a desire to give back to your public lands.
• Tools may be limited in number, so feel free to bring your own reusable water bottles, masks, rakes, grabbers, buckets, gloves, etc. with you.
• As a reminder, if you are feeling ill, you are encouraged to stay home.
• IMPORTANT: Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian along with a signed consent form. • The parent or legal guardian must sign all forms on behalf of the minor, including sections 34 and 36.
