Prescribed Fires Begin on the Cleveland
The Cleveland National Forest is planning prescribed fire operations this fall & winter. Work will continue through the spring as weather conditions allow. We use prescribed fires to help reduce overgrown vegetation to help protect local communities, infrastructure and natural resources from wildfires. Prescribed fires help maintain forest health and reduce the risk of unwanted wildfires in the future.
Note: These areas may be close to the public for several days for public safety. Watch for warning signs along roads near all prescribed fire areas before and during burns. Information signs will be posted along the roadways when burns occur to alert the public to the burning activity and subsequent visible smoke in the area.
Additional information may be posted to Cleveland National Forest X and Facebook accounts on the day burns occur.
