This Forest Order temporarily closing approximately 3.5 miles of National Forest System Roads 47N01, 47N44, and 47N52 on September 16, 2026. These closures encompass the road segments in the vicinity of helicopter operations occurring on the west fork and main channel of Beaver Creek and the associated helipad.
This Forest Order is necessary to promote public safety during helicopter operations. Planned aerial work on Beaver Creek will involve low‑flying aircraft, sling loads, ground crews, and other aviation activity that could pose hazards to the public. Restricting access to these road segments will help reduce the likelihood of the public encountering unsafe conditions such as rotor wash, falling material, aviation‑related debris, or unexpected aircraft movement in confined terrain. Additional hazards include temporarily restricted visibility, operational noise, and the presence of emergency personnel and equipment in the roadway.
The Order will remain in effect for the duration of helicopter operations on September 16, 2026, or until the Order is terminated or superseded as conditions are reevaluated.

BEAVER CREEK HELICOPERT OPERATIONS – TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(b), and to provide for public safety, the following act is prohibited within the Happy Camp/Oak Knoll Ranger District of the Klamath National Forest. This Order is effective September 16, 2026, during the duration of helicopter operations at the west fork and main channel of Beaver Creek and the nearby helipad:
Using a motor vehicle on National Forest System Roads 47N01, 47N44, and 47N52, as shown on the attached map, Exhibit A, during the temporary closure period associated with helicopter operations on September 16, 2026. This prohibition applies to approximately 3.5 miles of roadway in the Beaver Creek project area and is necessary to support public safety during aviation activities. This prohibition does not apply to persons exempt under 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e) or to authorized personnel performing official duties 36 C.F.R. § 261.54(a).
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
- Holders of Forest Service Permit No. FS‑7700‑48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order).
- Federal, State, or local officers, or members of organized rescue or firefighting forces performing official duties.
- Persons engaged in work, trade, or occupation within the closed roads to the extent necessary to conduct their duties (e.g., contractor or FS staff).
These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart A.
A violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 18 U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581.
