Angora Lakes Resort

Angora Lakes Resort, located on the south end of Lake Tahoe, is a popular destination during the summer months. A parking fee is required.

The hike up to the lake is a bit steep, but the trail is wide and lined with huge trees and rugged rocky hillsides. As you near the top of the trail you will see Lower Angora Lake where rustic cabins dot the shoreline. At the top of the trail is Upper Angora Lake, a stunning high elevation alpine lake with a sandy beach on one side and steep cliffs with huge rock outcroppings as a backdrop.

Small, non-motorized boats and kayaks are available for rental and the store offers tasty homemade lemonade and souvenirs. Angora Lakes Resort is a must see and definitely worth the hike!

Campfires (wood, charcoal or any other solid fuels) are prohibited. Portable stoves with an on/off switch are allowed with a valid permit.
