Eureka, CA., February 17, 2026—Sign up now and be part of the Six Rivers National Forest’s Spring 2026 Wildfire Prevention Blitz and help stop human-caused wildfires before they start!

The public plays a vital role in preventing wildfires. Human-caused wildfires comprised 89% of all wildfire occurrences in 2025, per the National Interagency Fire Center. Most of these fires can be prevented.

Preventable wildfires threaten lives, property, and precious natural resources. Whether it is properly extinguishing a campfire or keeping your vehicle maintained to prevent sparks, following just a few simple steps can help prevent wildfires.

These offerings are available from mid-April to mid-May to spread the message far and wide before fire season begins.
