Getting There
Directions
From the Calaveras Ranger Station in Hathaway Pines, California, turn right onto Highway 4 and travel 3.3 miles east. Turn left onto Avery Sheep Ranch Road and continue two miles.
Parking is on the north (right) side of Avery Sheep Ranch Road opposite Forest Road 4N41Y (Lat/Long: 38.197020, -120.399907).The northern section of the trail begins at the parking area and goes north along Avery Sheep Ranch Road, then continues up the west side of Valley View Drive.
To reach the trailhead to the San Domingo Section of the trail, walk down 4N41Y .1 mile to the end. You may also drive down 4N41Y and park at the end, at the turnaround (Lat/Long: 38.195442, -120.399488). Please be courteous and conserve parking space by parking nose or tail-in (not parallel) and out of the road right-of-way.
4N41Y and the parking area on Avery Sheep Ranch Road are unpaved. 4N41Y is rough in spots.
