  • 2026-27 OHV Grant Applications Notice of Public Review and Comment Opportunity

    This grant cycle the Tahoe National Forest will be submitting grant applications for:

    • Ground Operations (OHV trails and facilities maintenance)
    • Law Enforcement
    • Education and Safety – Focused education at Tahoe NF OHV “Hotspots” through Forest Service personnel, Volunteer Trail Rangers and signage
    • Development - East Zone Trail Connectivity Phase 2 (trail construction approx. 10 miles)
    • Development – Rattlesnake Trail Reroute Phase 2 Complement (Downieville Trail System)

    The TNF OHV Preliminary Grant Applications will be available for public review and comment from March 3 to May 4, 2026 (by 5:00 pm), on the California State Parks Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division’s website at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov. Public comments need to be submitted to both the Tahoe National Forest (joe.chavez@usda.gov) and the OHMVR, instructions on how to comment are on the OHMVR’s website.
