The window to apply for 2026 seasonal positions is now closed. Please check back in fall of 2026 for position for the 2027 season. 

Temporary Seasonal Positions:

Build skills, gain experience, and explore careers in public land management. Temporary positions will fall within three "focus areas": Trail Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, and Field Rangers. Positions out of Hood River, OR will be Facilities and Field Ranger-focused, Cascade Locks, OR will be Trails-focused, and Bridal Veil, OR (Multnomah Falls) will be Field Ranger-focused. 

Trail positions' duties include the maintenance and construction of trails and trail structures (including bridges) and the associated use of manual and power tools. The trail crew works four, ten-hour days (4-10s). For further details reach out to Nathaniel Brodie: Nathaniel.Brodie@usda.gov.

Facilities position duties include cleaning recreation sites (bathrooms, parking, and picnic areas), painting buildings and parking areas, mowing and weed-whacking recreation sites, and general maintenance of recreation facilities. Assisting with campground opening and closing, and seasonal operations (providing supplies to hosts and covering their duties if they are away) are additional responsibilities. Field Ranger position duties include roving trails to engage with visitors, staffing events and the visitor center (Multnomah Falls), and interpretation presentations at recreation and/or partner sites. Positions based out of Bridal Veil will be stationed at Multnomah Falls. Weekend work will be required. For more information reach out to Efeydi Monje: Efeydi.Monje@usda.gov.

You will have the opportunity to indicate your preference for recreation, visitors services, timber, etc. if you are contacted by a hiring official to move forward in the application process.
