Bonaparte Lake Campground

This campground is a popular site on Bonaparte Lake. The lake's elevation is at 3,600 feet and is home to multiple waterfowl species including the rare northern loon. Mule deer, elk, moose, and the occasional black bear can be sighted in the area. Bonaparte, Spur, and Cumberland Mountains surround the lake.

A boat launch, wheelchair-accessible fishing dock, and day-use/swimming area are popular amenities. Water and garbage dumpsters are available. Five double toilets as well as a flush toilet service the campground. The campground also has a seasonal Camp Host.

The sites are equipped with picnic tables and campfire grills. All sites can accommodate tents and some sites feature tent pads. The group site is equipped with drinking water, picnic tables, campfire grills, a community fire pit, RV/Camper parking and room for tent sites. A group shelter is available at the site. Drinking water, vault and flush toilets are also available in the campground. Access to the lake and boat launch are within walking distance.

Regulations

  • No wake zone for boating -8 mph maximum. 
  • No lead weights in lake.
  • Use of lead weights or lead jigs that measure 1.5 inches or less along the longest axis is prohibited 
  • Quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.              
  • Campfires in developed fire pits only       
  • Fireworks are prohibited           
  • Dogs must be on leash           
  • OHV use prohibited in the campground             
  • Maximum length of stay: 14 days          
  • Food and wildlife attractants must be properly stored at all times 

Overnight use: 50% discount for single site camping with any of these passes: Interagency Senior, Interagency Access, Golden Age, or Golden Access. Applies to fee for site occupied by the pass holder. 

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $20 per night

Double Site: $40 per night
Group Site: $125 per night
Extra Vehicle: $5/per night
Day Use: No fee

Directions

From Tonasket, take State Route 20 East for 24 miles to County Road #4953 (Bonaparte Recreation Area). Take County Road #4953 5.5 miles where it turns into Forest Service Road #32. The Bonaparte Lake Campground entrance is on the left.
