Forest Order
Pursuant to 16 USC § 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50(a) and (b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Naches Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This Order supersedes Order #06-17-02-24-29, dated October 18, 2024, and signed by Tara Umphries. This Order is effective November 1st, 2024, and will remain in effect through July 1st, 2025, unless rescinded sooner.
PROHIBITIONS:
- Entering into or being upon National Forest System lands, as described below and displayed on the attached map, Exhibit A [36 CFR § 261.53(e)].
- Being on a National Forest System trail, as described below and displayed on the attached map, Exhibit A [36 CFR § 261.55(a)].
- Being on a National Forest System Road as described below and displayed on the attached map, Exhibit A [36 CFR § 261.54(e)].
- Use of vehicle off of National Forest System Roads as described below and displayed on the attached map, Exhibit A [36 CFR § 261.56]
CLOSURE AREA DESCRIPTION:
The Military Operations Emergency Closure Area is described as:
- All lands within Sections 26, 27, 28, 33, 34, and 35 of Township 15 North, Range 12 East. All lands within Sections 2 and 3 of Township 14 North, Range 12 East. All lands in Sections 4, 9, and 10 of Township 14 North, Range 12 East that are north of Forest Service Trail 1105. Additionally, all of Forest Service Trail 979 (Pear Butte Trail) from the trailhead on Forest Service Road 1808 to its intersection with Forest Service Trail.
Forest Service Trail 1105 will remain open for travel along the closure area.
