Sisi Fire Trail Closure
Closure Order: 06-17-02-2026-35

Pursuant to 16 USC § 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50 (b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Chelan Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This Order is effective, August 22, 2026 and will remain in effect through December 31, 2026 unless rescinded sooner.

PROHIBITIONS:

1. Being on a National Forest System Trail, as described below and displayed on the attached
   map, Exhibit A [36 CFR § 261.55(a)].

CLOSURE AREA DESCRIPTION:

Trail Closures are as follows and only apply to USFS lands:

• Pacific Crest Trail 2000 (PCT) – Closure begins where Forest Service Trail (FST) 2000 enters the Chelan Ranger District (CRD) at T. 32 N., R. 14 E., sec. 11. Closure then follows FST 2000 generally N then ends at the boundary of the CRD and North Cascade National Park (NCNP) at T. 33 N., R. 16 E., sec. 10.
• Agnes Gorge Trail 1281 – Closure begins where FST 1281 enters the CRD at T. 33 N., R. 16 E., sec. 10. Closure then follows FST 1281 generally W to its terminus at T. 33 N., R. 16 E., sec. 16.
• Agnes Creek Trail 1272 – Closure begins at jct. with FST 2000 at T. 33 N., R. 16 E., sec. 20. Closure then follows FST 1272 generally W to its terminus at T. 33 N., R. 14 E., sec. 15.
• Company Creek Trail 1243 – Closure begins where FST 1243 enters the CRD at T. 33 N., R. 17 E., sec. 20. Closure then follows FST 1243 generally S to its jct. with FST 1244, at Hilgard Pass, at T. 32 N., R. 16 E., sec. 25. 
• Devore Creek Trail 1244 – Closure begins where FST 1244 enters the CRD at T. 33 N., R. 17 E., sec. PB52. Closure then follows FST 1244 generally S then NW to it’s jct. with FST 1243, at Hilgard Pass, at T. 32 N., R. 16 E., sec. 25.
• 4th of July Basin Trail 1244.1 – Closure begins at the jct. with FST 1244 at T. 32 N., R. 17 E., sec. 29 to its terminus at T. 32 N., R. 17 E., sec. 29.
• Swamp Creek Trail 1242 – Closure begins at the jct. with FST 2000 at T. 33 N., R. 14E., sec. 36 to its terminus at T. 32 N., R. 14 E., sec. 7.

EXEMPTIONS:

Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:

1. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire-fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
2. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation Order), specifically exempting them from this Order.

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.
Violations of these prohibitions are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for an individual or $10,000.00 for a corporation, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. (16 USC § 551; 18 USC §§ 3551, 3571, and 3581.)
