Timber Sales
Sustainable timber harvesting is a vital forest management tool that balances economic demand for wood products with ecological resilience. By carefully planning and executing timber sales, we support local jobs, provide essential raw materials, and help forests adapt to challenges with environmental stressors like severe weather, drought, and wildfires.
Timber harvests benefit communities by:
- Creating jobs and revenue in logging, milling, and forest restoration.
- Improving forest health by reducing hazardous fuels and overcrowding.
- Enhancing public safety by lowering wildfire risks and improving access.
- Boosting tourism and recreation by maintaining healthy, accessible National Forests.
Currently advertised timber and special forest product sales will be listed in the table below.
PLEASE NOTE: Information on this site will be reviewed and monitored to maintain accuracy. However, if discrepancies occur between the official hardcopy contract documents on file at the Forest Office, and those displayed on this website, information contained in the official hardcopy on file at the Forest Office takes precedence.
What We Offer
Our program provides resources and opportunities for various stakeholders, including businesses, land managers, and local governments.
Please read the Prospective Bidder Letters and Prospectus carefully for specific details regarding each sale. These documents have instructions on how to obtain bid packets, where to turn in bids, and how the bids will be shared with the public.
You can search for public contract opportunities and awards information in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at https://www.sam.gov. We encourage you to register your company for free in the SAM database as you need a user account to access functionality beyond the basic public search.
Please note: There is NO FEE to register in SAM. If someone is trying to charge you for your SAM profile, it is a scam. If someone is offering to help you set up your SAM profile for a fee, it is a scam. If you are ever asked to pay for any services related to your SAM profile, do not do it.
If you need help creating, updating or migrating your SAM profile the Government Contract Assistance Program can help.
