Early Winters Campground

This forested campground, along Early Winters Creek, is located near the confluence of Early Winters Creek and the Methow River. There are two trails nearby, within 4 miles of this campground: Cedar Creek Trail #476 and Driveway Butte Trail #481. 

The campground is divided by State Route 20 with campsites available on either the north or south side of the highway. Easy access to Mazama and many trails in the scenic highway corridor. Access to the Methow Community Trail for biking or walking into Mazama.

Reservations

This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature.

General Information

Typically accessible April - November

Early Winters Creek is closed to fishing. 

50% discount for single site camping with any of these passes: Interagency Senior, Interagency Access, Golden Age, or Golden Access. Applies to fee for site occupied by the pass holder.

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $15 per night
Additional Vehicle Fee: $5 per vehicle per night

Directions

Located on North Cascades National Scenic Highway 20. Drive west from Winthrop on Highway 20 for 15 miles to Early Winters Campground. There are campsites on both the south side of the Highway 20 and on the north side of the Highway 20.
