Sixmile Campground

Sixmile Campground has 4 walk-in campsites and fire rings located along the Wild and Scenic Illinois River. There are 2 covered picnic sites across the road from the camping area.

Effective July 2026, this site is fully cashless. Visitors need to pay using the Scan and Pay feature of recreation.gov.

General Information

Day use only: open sunrise to sunset

  • Quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • Campfires in developed fire pits only
  • Fireworks are prohibited
  • Dogs must be on leash
  • OHV/ATV use prohibited in the campground
  • Maximum length of stay: 14 days

Day Use:
$5 per vehicle per day
Overnight Use:
Single Site: $10 per night

  • $10 for campsite

Directions

From Selma, OR, off of Highway 199 is the turn for the Illinois River Road (Forest Road 4301).  Take that road approximately 6 miles to the campsites.  Just before the Six Mile Day Use Area you will take the spur road to the right to the parking area for the campsites.
