Ashland Watershed Trails

Current Conditions

July 10, 2026: The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest is continuing to complete much needed work at and near White Rabbit trailhead, and road maintenance along Forest Road 2060. The work is being done to provide for the safety of the recreating public, and for firefighters. Work includes cutting dead trees (snags), chipping downed material, clearing the helicopter landing located above the trailhead, thinning small diameter seedlings/saplings along roadsides and the trailhead, and performing much needed road maintenance and ditch clearing along the road up to Lamb Saddle. Work will be in three phases: Phase 1: Clearing and maintenance work of the helicopter landing just uphill from the parking area and trailhead has been completed. --> Currently in Phase 2: Cutting snags at the trailhead and along the 2060 road leading up to the trailhead. This phase will include completing road maintenance and ditch clearing from the bottom of the dirt road up to the trailhead. Some of this work will require the areas near the trailhead and road to be closed from 7:00 am - 1:00 pm Mon-Thurs in order to provide for firefighter safety and the public, and we appreciate your support and patience. Phase 3: Cutting snags above and below the road (Forest Road 2026) up to Lamb Saddle. The 15,000+ acre Ashland Municipal Watershed is home to more than 45 miles of multi-use trails for hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians, and is an international destination for the unique beauty and diversity of the forests and Siskiyou Mountains.

Trails are marked according to user group appropriate, and some trails are also directional in nature (e.g. bikes riding uphill only).

This watershed houses the source of Ashland's drinking water. Please: Recreate responsibly!

Honor trail designations. Remember: Bikes yield to Pedestrians, and everyone yields to Equestrians!
Motorized use, including e-bikes, is prohibited behind gates and on all trails.
Protect the wildlife that call this watershed home.
Pack out all of your waste—Leave No Trace! This includes your dog's bagged waste, too!
Camping and campfires are prohibited in the watershed 365 days a year.

This free map provides trail information for wayfinding and accessing the foothills and entirety of the 15,000-acre Ashland Municipal Watershed, Mt. Ashland, and the miles of trails included within.

Easily readable and updated regularly, the map identifies trails by use (bike, hike, horse, or multi-use), as well as where directional restrictions apply.

Camping and campfires are prohibited year-round in the Ashland Municipal Watershed to protect the City of Ashland's water supply.
