Rocky Flat Fire Stays Around 50 Acres
PENDLETON, Ore. (Sept. 11, 2025) —The Rocky Flat Fire, on the Heppner Ranger District is at approximately 54 acres with 100 percent containment. The fire has received precipitation over the past two days and there is very little visible interior smoke. The fire will be placed into patrol status at the end of the day.
We continue to urge the public to drive with caution when traveling on Forest Service Road 24 and on Heppner-Spray Highway 207 due to increased fire traffic and suppression operations.
Umatilla National Forest appreciates all the assistance from our partner agencies from Oregon Department of Forestry, Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office and Wheeler County Fire and Rescue.
Fire crews and managers will continue to watch for additional starts.
Unless significant changes occur with the Rocky Flat Fire, this will be the last notification about the fire.
