Castle Fire Area, Road, and Trail Closure

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited
on the National Forest System (NFS) lands, roads, and trails in the Tiller Ranger District,
Umpqua National Forest, described below and shown on the attached map incorporated into
this Order as Exhibit A: This Order is effective August 17, 2026, through December 31, 2026.

PROHIBITIONS
1. 36 C.F.R. § 261.53(e) Special closures or restrictions.
2. 36 CFR § 261.54(e) National Forest System roads.
3. 36 CFR § 261.55(a) National Forest System trails.

EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:

1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or
   Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order
   or a written determination by a Forest Service authorized officer that a permit is not
   required under 36 C.F.R. § 251.50(e)(1) or (2).
2. Any Federal, State, or Local Officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting
   force in the performance of an official duty.

DESCRIBED AREA AND ROADS
The Closure Area is described as an area starting at the intersection of Forest Service Road (FSR) 2823 and FSR 28 in T28S, R03E, Section 7, following FSR 2823 southwest to the unnamed creek in T28S, R02E, Section 32, following the unnamed creek northwest to FSR 28, following FSR 28 northeast back to the point of origin at the intersection of FSR 2823 and FSR 28. 

Road Closures:  

FSR 28, from the intersection of FSR 28 and FSR 2823 in T28S, R03E, Section 7, to the intersection of FSR 28 and FSR 2715 in T27S, R03E, Section 32 

FSR 2800-400, from the intersection of FSR 2800-400 and FSR 28 in T28S, R02E, Section 16, to the intersection of FSR 2800-400 and FSR 2814-700 in T28S, R02E, Section 8 

FSR 28, from the intersection of FSR 28 and the unnamed creek in T28S, R02E, Section 32, to the intersection of FSR 2800-359 and FSR 28 in T28S, R02E, Section 31 

FSR 2823, from the intersection of FSR 2823 and the unnamed creek in T28S, R02E, Section 32, to the intersection of FSR 2823 and FSR 2838 in T28S, R03E, Section 32 

FSR 2830, from the intersection of FSR 2823 and FSR 2830 in T28S, R02E, Section 28, to the intersection of FSR 2830 and FSR 2835 in T28S, R02E, Section 27 

PURPOSE
The purpose of this Order is to protect public and firefighter health and safety during active
wildfire suppression operations.

IMPLEMENTATION

1.  A map identifying the Described Castle Area and Road Fire Closure is attached and
   made part of this Order as Exhibit A. For a digital version of this Order and Exhibit A, go

2. Unless otherwise expressly defined in this Order, the terms used in this Order are
   defined by the regulations of the Secretary of Agriculture, 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts
   200-299. If there are terms in this Order that are not expressly defined in the Order or
   36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299, their meaning shall be determined by their plain
   language definitions.
3. A violation of the above prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for
   individuals and $10,000 for organizations, or by imprisonment for not more than six
   months, or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551; 18 U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581.

   this Order.
5. This Order supersedes the 06-15-02-26-02 Order prohibiting the same or similar acts in
   the Castle Area and Road Fire Closure.
