  • Emigrant Fire Closure Order

    Pursuant to 16 USC 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50 (a) and (b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited in the areas described in this Order on National Forest System lands within the administrative boundaries of the Willamette National Forest. This Order supersedes Forest Order #06-18-10-25-18, signed September 26, 2025, and is effective October 31, 2025, through May 15, 2026, unless rescinded sooner.

PROHIBITIONS:

  1. Being on a road. 36 CFR § 261.54(e)

CLOSURE DESCRIPTION:

The closure applies to the NFS roads described below. The closed roads are depicted on the attached map, which is incorporated into this Order as “Exhibit A”.

The closed roads include: Forest Service (FS) Road 2137 from its junction of FS Road 2136 in Township 24 S, Range 4 E, Section 32 to its intersection with FS Road 2143 in Township 25 S, Range 5 E, Section 18; FS Road 2143 from its junction with FS Road 21 in Township 24 S, Range 4 E, Section 10 to its intersection with FS Road 2144 in Township 25 S Range 5 E Section 18; Finally, FS Road 2144 is closed from its junction with FS Road 2143 in Township 24 S, Range 4 E, S 15 to its intersection with FS Road 2154 in Township 25 S Range 5 E Section 18.

EXEMPTIONS:

Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:

  1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order) specifically exempting them for this Order.
    1. Any Federal, State, or Local Officer, or member of organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

Violations of these prohibitions are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for an individual or $10,000.00 for a corporation or imprisonment for not more than six months or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 18 U.S.C. § 3551, 3571, and 3581.
