  • Taylor Hollow Fire Near Fairfield

    The Taylor Hollow Fire was discovered on July 5 and is now approximately 108 acres and 40% contained. Today, firefighters strengthened containment lines by burning vegetation between the fire perimeter and established containment lines. As a result of this increased fire activity, residents and travelers may see and smell more smoke in the areas surrounding the fire, particularly in the Irish Creek community.

    Closures

    • Whetstone Ridge Trail (#523) is temporarily closed to all public use.
    • Big Mary's Road (#104) is temporarily closed to all public use.

    Fire Resources
    A total of 129 personnel are assigned to the fire, including:

    • Three 20-person hand crews
    • 51 firefighters and support personnel
    • A 5-person crew supporting a Type 1 helicopter
    • 13 engine crew members staffing three Type 6 engines
