  • USDA Forest Service Continues Response to Ice Storm Impacts on National Forest System Lands

    Response work continues

Holly Springs, Tombigbee and Delta National Forests sustained damage from ice during Winter Storm Fern. Trees have been weakened, some roads are covered with downed trees and broken limbs. Many limbs remain caught in treetops and can fall without warning.

Please drive slowly to help protect first responders. Crews continue to work, assess damage, and personnel/equipment may be around curves or over hills.  Forest roads are passable in some areas but narrowed by debris.

Some roads remain blocked. Crews will work through the weekend to clear them. Watch for downed trees and large limbs.
