  • USDA Forest Service Responds to Ice Storm Impacts on National Forest System Lands

Ice and trees are still present on the roads throughout the Holly Springs and Delta National Forests.
Crews are assessing damage, clearing debris, and restoring safe access where conditions allow.
Downed trees, hanging limbs, and ice covered roads continue to create hazards across forest roads and
recreation areas. Forest Service personnel and partners are prioritizing routes needed for emergency access
and critical infrastructure, while evaluating impacts to trails, facilities, and natural resources.
Public safety remains the top priority.
Visitors should avoid traveling on forest roads in affected areas until hazards are removed.
    Road and site status
Some forest roads and recreation sites may be temporarily closed or intermittently inaccessible as crews work.
The Forest Service appreciates the patience of local communities and visitors while employees perform this
work under difficult conditions. Please give crews room to operate and respect posted closures and barriers.
