PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF 16 U.S.C., SECTION 551 AND 36 CFR 261.50(a) AND (b), THE FOLLOWING ACTS ARE PROHIBITED ON THE AREA DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDER AS WOLF PEN GAP COMPLEX WITHIN THE OUACHITA NATIONAL FOREST.
THE FOLLOWING PROHIBITED ACTS ARE SET FORTH IN 36 CFR 261.54, 261.55, AND 261.58:
261.54(e) and 261.55(a). Operating an off road vehicle in area after sundown or before sunrise.
261.54(e) and 261.55(a). Operating any motorized vehicle when seasonally closed; closed for maintenance; or closed for short-term resource protection due to wet conditions (wet weather management plan).
261.54(f). Operating any motorized vehicle carelessly, recklessly or without regard for the rights and safety of other persons or in a manner or at a speed that would endanger or be likely to endanger any person or property.
261.54(a) and 261.55(b) Using a tracked vehicle.
261.58(e) Camping in other than designated campsites.
These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions at 36 CFR part 261, Subpart A.
THE AREA IS DEFINED AS: All National Forest Lands within the boundaries east of AR Hwy 375 between the communities of Dallas and Shady, north of Forest Road 25 between Shady and Forest Road 95, west of Forest Road 95 from Forest Road 25 to Polk Co. Road 61, south of Polk 61 between Forest Road 95 and AR Hwy 8, south of AR Hwy 8 from Polk 61 to Polk 44, and south of Polk 44 between AR Hwy 8 and the community of Dallas.
PURSUANT TO 36 CFR, SECTION 261.50 (e), THE FOLLOWING PERSONS ARE EXEMPT FROM THIS ORDER:
(1) Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
(2) Any Federal, State, or local officer or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
