Lumberman’s Monument Visitor Center opens Friday May 1, 2026

OSCODA, MI., April 13, 2026 – Lumberman’s Monument Visitor Center will be open to the public beginning Friday May 1. With help from the Eastern National Forests Interpretive Association(ENFIA) and the Student Conservation Association (SCA), this popular visitor center will remain open seven days a week through Labor Day.

“This partnership has allowed us to continue to provide enriching interactive programming, like logging shows, environmental education and historical interpretation available to visiting elementary schools and seasonal forest visitors,” said Huron Shores Ranger Ben Wiese. “In turn, SCA students get the enrichment of hands-on job experience that aids their career path after college.”
